Sephardic Legacy
A collaboration with the New Mexico History Museum’s “Fractured Faiths: Spanish Judaism, The Inquisition, and New World Identities” exhibition. When the Jewish people were expelled from Spain in 1492 they took their music with them, settling in a diaspora that stretched from Turkey to the New World. Vanessa Paloma, Santa Fe native and Sephardic music expert, joins as a guest soloist in a program that features Romances, lullabies and love songs of the Sephardim. Fattah Abbou (oud and percussion) and Polly Tapia Ferber (percussion) will also appear on the program.
